May Festival

Our May Festival, the Sunday before the May Day Bank Holiday, fell this year in April! Despite this apparent calendar confusion this another wonderful community event. After the procession from the Playing Fields, Verity Bruce was crowned May Queen by Uma King, last year's incumbent, and the proceedings were under way.

The children danced round the Maypole with wonderful enthusiasm and precision. Towersey Morris and the Three Horseshoes Morris entertained the crowd with their own brand of dancing.  Meanwhile the well-stocked stalls were in kept busy as villagers chatted or munched on their BBQ sausage.

It was a wonderful day.  Very many thanks to all who made it such a success.
